Congratulations to Mad Men's Elisabeth Moss, who will star in Broadway's Speed the Plow opposite Jeremy Piven and Raul Esparza. Previews begin October 3.
From one Broadway stage to another: DBA’s Ashley Spencer leaves her role as Amber in Hairspray to play Sandy in Grease, beginning July 22. Last year, Spencer was first runner-up for the role on NBC’s hit reality show Grease: You’re the One that I Want.
Andy Karl will leave his role as the UPS Guy in Legally Blonde – and, temporarily, his wife and costar Orfeh -- to costar with Alison Janney in the new musical 9 to 5, based on the film. The show opens at the Ahmanson in Los Angeles on September 3 and comes to Broadway later this season.
Congratulations to Becky Gulsvig, who will play the lead role of Elle Wood in Legally Blonde: The Musical’s first national tour, kicking off this September in Baltimore. Gulsvig was understudy for the role on Broadway.
Congratulations to Hoon Lee for receiving a Theater World Award for his starring role in "Yellow Face." This annual award is given to actors and actresses who have made outstanding debuts in a Broadway or Off Broadway production.
